You will be taught to understand how to research and concept makeup and hair styling ideas and to consider the constraints of working in lens based industries. You will work in a high specification, make up and hair design studio for practical make up workshops as well as have the opportunity to work on location. Students will have the opportunity to gain practical skills in pre-production planning, script research and scheduling, scene story boarding, researching and presenting ideas, designing colour palettes, being camera ready, lighting techniques, photographic styling, image and celebrity. Industry projects and client-based work will inform the link between innovation and industry requirements. Historical and contemporary contextual studies will inform and underpin the course.The curriculum will develop the technical, creative and business skills required in order to work in those industries within the context of styling, hair design and make up.
